The month of June signals the start of summer, hurricane season, and a group of month-long efforts to bring awareness to important issues affecting Americans like Alzheimer’s & Brain, Gun Violence, Children's, Cancer Survivors, Immigrant Heritage, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) awareness, and the controversial Gay Pride celebration.
For whatever reason, none of the month-long issues receive the attention Pride Month deserves because of the country's current ‘woke” state.
The U.S. Military and its “woke command” have also jumped on the Pride bandwagon and have made a full-throated effort to promote the month-long alternative lifestyle celebration, where the LGBTQ community celebrates their sexuality, nothing more.
Again, Pride Month is the celebration of the alternative sexual lifestyle of a small fraction of the overall U.S. population.
Combat veteran and Congressman Cory Mills, who served with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division as a medic in Iraq, took umbrage over his military unit’s embrace of Pride month instead of acknowledging the aforementioned Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month.
“June is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, but woke military command and
priorities focused on this instead. We must put an end to our military focus on DEI and prioritize military readiness,” stated Rep. Mills and posted two images of the 82nd Airborne promoting Pride month.
The U.S. Air Force has also celebrated Pride month, but they took their support a bit further by posting an image of an airman saluting a Pride flag instead of the traditional American flag.
To be fair, the military did also acknowledge PTSD Awareness month. Just this past week, Lt. General DeAnna Burt, who heads up the Space Command, questioned military "readiness" after Florida and other states enacted what she refers to as anti-LGBTQ legislation.
