Waltz Praises STARCOM's Relocation

Share

Since its inception, the U.S. Space Force has received considerable criticism. However, Republicans have praised the military organization. This week, the U.S. Air Force announced that it would be making a movie. Florida Rep. Mike Waltz (R) praised the Space Training and Readiness Command’s (STARCOM) move to Patrick Space Force base in Florida.

The Department of the Air Force decided that STARCOM would be making its permanent headquarters in Patrick Space Force Space in Florida.

The decision drew considerable praised from Republicans, who voiced their support for President Donald Trump (R) in the process.

Rep. Waltz, who’s endorsed Trump for President, also shared the work he himself has done on behalf of the Space Force.

“Since the formation of U.S. Space Force under President Trump, Congressman Bill Posey and I have tirelessly pushed the Pentagon to permanently move STARCOM to Florida’s Space Coast and am thrilled by this decision,” Waltz said. “For decades, Florida has been at the forefront of space innovation and is a natural host for this much-needed command center,” he continued.

As China continues to increase their launch capacity, I will continue to advocate for resources to strengthen STARCOM’s efforts to ensure the Space Force is prepared to address the threats of today and the future,” Waltz warned.

The agency is responsible for the Space Force's testing, education, doctrine, and training. The relocation makes way for 460 new positions that are expected to provide opportunities to Floridians.

President Trump has not commented on the Space Force's  relocation. However the threat that China poses continues to be a topic of concern as Republicans have remained firmly against the Communist Chinese Party. While there are fundamental disagreements between the structure of both governments, the technological threat that China offers has been one of the most pressing concerns given extensive disagreements that they share.
