Team DeSantis Blames Trump for 'Woke' Air Force General's Pro-LGBTQ Remarks

Share

When Space Force Lt. Gen DeAnna Burt came out and stated that “400 anti-LGBTQ type laws” that were recently introduced around the country compromised U.S. military readiness, it stunned just about everyone who watched the now-viral video.

The video also appeared to have triggered Team DeSantis in pushing an apparent false narrative that somehow it was former President Trump’s fault for “nominating” her to her current leadership position.

“Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt was nominated for her promotion from brigadier general to major general in May of 2020 by then President Donald Trump,” said DeSantis’s Executive Office press secretary Jeremy Redfern.

Redfern appears to be blaming Trump for General Burt's promotion in 202o but did not mention her promotion in 2022 to Lt. General by President Joe Biden.

“Another woke Trump appointee,” stated former Trump supporter and now-DeSantis influencer, John Cardillo, who as early as 2022, was praising President Trump,

Another former Trump supporter and administration employee, Jenna Ellis, also “Liked” Redfern’s assertion that General Burt was a Trump nominee.

In addition, the Twitter handle DeSantis War Room, which is run by Christina Pushaw, also expressed its support for Redfern’s claim.

The question here is, was Lt. Gen. Burt a Trump nominee or appointee?

Did Trump install her in the leadership position she currently holds to express her woke ideology?

Maybe. There doesn't appear to be anything on record of President Trump formally appointing or nomination General Burt in 2020 outside of the standard "Data received from President" entry in the official congressional record.

Why not mention that in her current position, not the position she was in when President Trump held office, General Burt made the "woke" remarks?

Space Force

In 2019, then-President Trump created Space Force. General Burt, began her career in the U.S. Air Force back in 1991, and according to Department of Defense (DoD), she entered an “Undergraduate Space Training” course from October 1992—January 1993.

General Burt rose through the ranks within the presidential administrations of President’s George H. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush. Barack H. Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden.

In 2018, when Trump announced that he would create Space Force, and in July of that year, General Burt was named Director of Operations and Communications, but she was not nominated for the position.

Fast forward to December 2022, when President Joe Biden did officially nominate Burt to the rank of Major General and the position of Deputy Chief of Space Operations.

Here is the official statement (Oct 12, 2022) announcing Burt’s nomination to her current rank position by President Biden:

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced that the president has made the following nomination:

Space Force Maj. Gen. DeAnna M. Burt for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as deputy chief of space operations, Operations, Cyber, and Nuclear, Office of the Chief of Space Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.  Burt is currently serving as special assistant, Office of the Vice Chief of Space Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

What most Americans don’t know is that Burt went through the U.S. Senate confirmation process, and was confirmed via floor voice vote.

None of the 100 sitting U.S. senators objected to her nomination.

According to one Senate communications director, her confirmation was a “standard military promotion” without objection, and according to the official congressional record, President Biden sent in Burt’s nomination on Oct 11, 2022.

The U.S. Airforce does not hide its efforts to make the military command “woke” and inclusive.

The Air Force recently posted a meme on social media of an airman saluting a gay pride flag

Again, did Trump personally appoint Burt to a position within the Space Force?

It  appear he might have, but this is the political funny season and pro-DeSantis supporters are making the case that because he created the newest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, he is responsible for Burt’s hiring.

The buck does always stop at the top, so is it fair to say that Trump is responsible for her actions?

But the truth of the matter is, President Biden did openly declared his nomination for Burt in 2022.

Again, this is all political. Team DeSantis is currently involved in a nasty and embarrassing online cage match with Team Trump.

DeSantis could also be accused of lacking leadership skills considering that he hired staff in 2019 that leaked information to media outlets. DeSantis eventually fired the leakers and tightened up the ship.

None of the aforementioned pro-DeSantis individuals like Cardillo and Ellis are directly involved with the campaign, they are part of the Christina Pushaw-influenced DeSantis “influencer” cabal.

Pushaw, whose ethics have been questioned by several Florida operatives she has crossed paths with while working in DeSantis’s office,  falsely stated that the “Biden Border Crisis” would not have happened if Trump finished building the wall, appears to be using her access to DeSantis to directly offer “influencers” access to DeSantis.

"We wouldn’t have a Biden border crisis today if we had a wall as promised," stated Pushaw.

All of the DeSantis “influencers” in her cabal are every day, actively dressing down President Trump, and fawning over DeSantis on social media.

This American fair game politics at its best, or at its worse, depending on which side you are on.
