House Republicans Will Hold Christopher Wray in Contempt of Congress

Share

Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, President Joe Biden (D) finds himself embroiled in further controversy. The Republican-led House Oversight committee will be voting this week to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt. If Wray is held in contempt, the ruling could have serious implications on the Biden administration and the upcoming election.

Accusations of having received money from foreign governments has loomed over the Biden administration since President Biden was inaugurated. The infamous laptop of Hunter Biden has been a controversial topic of contention with GOP officials arguing that the laptop proves that President Biden was involved in shady business dealings while he was President Barack Obama’s (D) Vice President.

However, after a new GOP Oversight meeting, Republicans are now arguing that they have evidence to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt.

This comes via Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R), who took to social media to make the announcement, saying that she was "in shock."

"The FBI HAS an informant who brought forward info that Biden received 5 million from a foreign national while VP," she shared, adding that "THEY stated they were afraid the informant would be killed if unmasked."

Luna further informed that "on Thursday there will be a hearing to hold FBI Director Wray in Contempt of Congress," noting that "no more corruption shall be tolerated."

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R) made a formal announcement during a press conference, announcing that "given the severity and the complexity of the allegations contained within this record, Congress must investigate further." Comer warned that "Americans have lost trust in the FBI's ability to enforce the law impartially, and demand answers, transparency and accountability."

The accusation entails President Biden allegedly receiving $5 million in a bribery scheme involving a foreign national, which included an exchange of money for influence over specific policy decisions.
