Progressive freshman Rep. Maxwell Frost continues to express his disdain for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), calling him a “racist” for stating that he would “reinstate the name of Fort Bragg,” which was recently changed by the Biden administration to “Fort Liberty.”

"I also look forward to, as President, restoring the name of FORT BRAGG to our great military base in Fayetteville, North Carolina... It's an iconic name and iconic base, and we're not gonna let political correctness run amok,” said Gov. DeSantis at his address to the North Carolina Republican Party Convention in Greensboro.

Fort Bragg was named in 1918 after former U.S. Army artillery commander Braxton Bragg, who fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War.

In response to a tweet by POLITICO’s Gary Fineout, Frost stated, “Racist Governor DeSantis.”

Frost, who is an outspoken Gen Z and pro-woke lawmaker, also recently cried out, “F-ck DeSantis” during a cameo concert stage appearance he made in Orlando, Florida.

Progressive Democrats have been at odds with DeSantis over his “War on Woke,” where he has vowed to strip “woke” from the state of Florida, and recently stated during a presidential campaign stop in Iowa that he would “rip out” the woke agenda out of the U.S. Military.

“I think all of us have a sense of pride in being able to wear the cloth of your country, but we've seen the military become politicized in recent years. you see woke agenda being imposed on it. On Day 1 as Commander-In-Chief, I rip it all out. We're getting the military back to basics, we're going to improve morale, and we're going to get people to want to join the military again,” said DeSantis.

Prior to President Joe Biden changing the base’s name to Fort Liberty as a result of pressure from what Republicans call the “Woke society” and culture that has embraced the nation, other American presidents who were elected to the presidency after 1918 including Democrats, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson, Harry S. Truman, and Jimmy Carter.

All of these men, including decades-long dozens and dozens of Democratic and Republican members of Congress did not find a problem with Fort Bragg’s name.
