Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray regarding six alleged FBI agents filmed kneeling in solidarity with those carrying out the lawless Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots nationwide in 2020.
The Summer of 2020 saw the most violent racial riots the country has seen in decades. After the death of George Floyd, groups like Black Lives Matter mobilized for change across the nation. Even before this kneeling during the national anthem was popularized in protest of police.
During that Summer on May 29, 2020, in Washington, D.C. alone, violent protestors threw rocks, urine, and alcohol at United States Secret Service Agents, injuring over 60 of them. Some protestors also scaled the barriers to the White House and the Department of the Treasury complex.
Rep. Gaetz stated in a letter to the FBI, "This shameful and unprecedented violence took place over several days, and included the arson attack on St. John’s Episcopal Church adjacent to the White House. During these events, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) personnel were quite literally “on the line” defending our nation’s Capitol in an attack that has not been surpassed since in either its scope or violence."
Just a few days later on June 4, 2020, at least six alleged FBI agents were filmed kneeling in supplication. Gaetz thinks it is possible that the FBI did this in an attempt to, "placate the mob."
Gaetz's team has requested information about the woman above, such as her position in the department, and if she ideologically supported the 2020 movement that resulted in the FBI being adversely affected.
