DeSantis Visits Southern Border in Major Presidential Stop

SIERRA VISTA, AZ – Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) visited the southern border to address the immigration crisis as he continues his presidential campaign.

A few weeks ago, Gov. DeSantis sent Florida Law Enforcement and the Florida National Guard as part of his vow to assist Texas and other border states in mitigating the influx of illegal immigration and the criminality that follows it.

“Joe Biden is derelict in the performance of his duties and refuses to uphold the borders of our nation,” said Gov. DeSantis. “In Florida, we’re stepping up even as the federal government falls down on the job. We enacted strong legislation to combat illegal immigration, sent law enforcement officers and equipment to the border, and have dedicated resources to divert migrants to sanctuary jurisdictions. Today we’re taking Florida’s no-nonsense approach to border enforcement nationwide.”

Within several weeks of having been deployed to Texas to help police the U.S. southern border with Mexico, Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced that law enforcement teams on the ground have already assisted in 190 arrests of criminal illegal aliens, including the detention of illegal aliens wanted for capital murder.

“Florida is leading the charge to stop the chaos at the southwest border and force Biden to follow public-safety immigration laws,” said Attorney General Ashley Moody. “We continue to beat Biden in federal court over his unlawful mass-release policies, our law enforcement officers are helping their brethren in law enforcement fight the proliferation in crime caused by the broken border, and our great Governor is strengthening state laws to further protect Florida from the public-safety threats and financial strain caused by the unprecedented illegal immigration that the federal government is facilitating.”

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Fox News to discuss the recent gripes from California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) due to the transport of migrants from Florida to the Golden State.

Rep. Donalds believes that Gov. Newsom’s policies are causing the problem at the border, not Governor Ron DeSantis’.

“Listen, California has always been advertising that they’re a sanctuary state. But now they got problems. Now New York City’s got problems. They’re complaining now that they have to deal with the issues created by their crazy policy,” stated Rep. Donalds. “But I don’t hear a Gavin Newsom or their sheriff in Texas talking about the fact that Joe Biden allows young girls to be raped in journey to our southern border because of his reckless policy.”

In June of 2019, Gov. DeSantis signed a bill to ban sanctuary cities.
