With Title 42 set to expire, Republicans are warning the border crisis will only worsen. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) appeared on NewsMax to discuss, criticizing the Biden Administration for downplaying the border issue by claiming illegal immigration has decreased by 90%.
Sen. Rubio stated that if the border crisis were happening in another country, "people would be calling the United Nations to go down there and deal with this crisis."
Moreover, with the expiration of Title 42 imminent, Sen. Rubio warned "We are headed towards a pretty cataclysmic situation there on our border."
"I think we are headed towards a pretty cataclysmic situation there on our border, which has no precedent in American history or in the history of any developed country, having that kind of pressure on your border," said Rubio.
Host Eric Bolling then referred to comments made by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who have both claimed the border is secure. Jean-Pierre, in a recent press conference, stated that illegal immigration has declined by "90%," which Rubio calls "a blatant lie."
"To be able to have the willingness to say that is to say that you think the general public is stupid. That's what they're basically saying. "People are stupid, and there's no problem. It's down 90 percent." It's a blatant lie. The numbers don't lie. The numbers are real. Everybody sees them every day. And it's about to get far worse," Rubio continued.
Rubio then claimed that the Biden Administration and left-leaning media do not care because President Biden "sold his soul to the leftist devil." By this, he referred to Biden's multiple bids for President, finding success by appealing to the far-left elements of the Democratic Party, "which now controls the base of that party."
"They don't care. That's the problem. The problem they have is that Joe Biden sold his soul to the leftist devil in order to get himself into office because that's the base of the Democratic Party. The guy had been trying to be President for 30 years. The ticket there was to sell himself to the Far Left of his party, which now controls the base of that party," Rubio concluded.
These comments come shortly after Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced a bill designed to mitigate child trafficking at the southern border, specifically by strengthening the vetting process of migrant children and their sponsors.
