Cory Mills Calls Biden Cartels' 'MVP' by Seeking to Overturn Title 42

With the COVID-19 pandemic officially declared over, the Biden Administration seeks to overturn Title 42. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) argued in a recent appearance on Fox News's Cavuto Coast to Coast that the fentanyl crisis, enabled by smuggling over the southern border, is enough justification for Title 42 to remain in place. Rep. Mills went so far as to say President is "the MVP" for the Mexican drug cartels because of it.

Host Neil Cavuto spoke of a bipartisan resolution by Senators Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) to extend Title 42 by two years. Rep. Mills said he "appreciated" their efforts, adding his belief that Title 42 should remain in place.

"I can appreciate what Senator Tillis and Senator Sinema are trying to do with this. But I would say that while Title 42, which is a public health emergency utilization, was targeted originally for COVID, I would argue that we should maintain Title 42 based on the fentanyl overdoses, which are causing a massive public health issue when it comes to the tens of thousands of Americans who are dying per year," said Mills.

As such, he was not convinced of the Biden Administration's reasoning for the overturn, adding that he is in favor of immigration reform and commending Governor Ron DeSantis's efforts to crack down on illegal immigration, such as E-Verify laws.

Moreover, should Title 42 be overturned, reports have suggested 18,000 migrants would attempt to cross the border daily, a number previously spoken of by Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) in December.

"This is a real crisis, Neal," Mills continued, "We're talking about with Title 42 away, up to 18,000 people a day, which is well exceeding the 100% capacity operationally of our [Customs and Border Patrol] already. So we really need to get control over this. The drug cartels are maxing out."

Cavuto responded that President Biden "won't budge" on the issue, which prompts Mills to remind him that President Biden also vowed to veto a bill seeking to address the Washington, D.C. crime rate, "so we have seen where Joe Biden has made a lot of empty promises."

"So we have seen where Joe Biden has made a lot of empty promises; that's something normal for him as he sits in his basement. The reality is this: He's actually the MVP, every single month, for drug cartels where he has driven it from being $500 million in 2018 to 2021, where it was a $13 billion enterprise, of which 50 percent is human and child sex trafficking," Mills concluded.

Similarly, in March, Florida's Attorney General called President Biden "the biggest benefactor" to the cartels.
