Mast Chides Biden Admin's Foreign Policy, 'Weakness Invites Aggression'

A Chinese jet nearly clipped and American spy plane over the South China Sea, yet the Biden Administration did nothing. Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) criticized this lack of action in a recent Fox News appearance, "At a time when the United States must show strength, President Biden continues to show weakness."

Rep. Mast made an analogy between real estate and foreign policy, wherein the "first rule" of the former is "location, location, location," while in the latter, the first rule is "weakness invites aggression, weakness invites aggression, weakness invites aggression."

He then referred to the March incident where a Russian jet struck an American drone and the lack of response from the Biden Administration.

"So whether it's Russians pissing fuel onto US drones or whether it's this, they see an administration that's unwilling to react and go out there to defend America, its interests, its military assets, or anything else," said Mast.

Host Lauren Simonetti then asked Mast for his take on American business leaders such as Elon Musk and Jamie Dimon interacting with China.

"We're in a totally different cold war today, this isn't like the Cold War with the Soviet Union where you had every American company having the back to be in the fight against communism. And unfortunately, you don't have every American company having the back of Americans, freedom, and democratic systems and values," answered Mast, echoing Rep. Carlos Gimenenz's (R-FL) call for the United States to "decouple" from China.

Mast previously criticized the Biden Administration's foreign policy with China earlier in May, saying the U.S. must "show up" on China as they "show us up."

"The U.S. is getting shown up, and if we don’t show up to these places… we've got to go in these places and be a part of the conversation because we can and because we do have a say, and we should have a say. That has to be the attitude of America," said Mast.
