Byron Donalds: 'Un-American' Trump Indictment Will Backfire in 2024

Share

The sudden decision to indict former President Donald Trump continues to generate controversy. In a recent appearance on NewsMax, Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) stated the indictment exhibited "gross unfairness" and "a gross streak of un-Americanism from the radical left."

""This is about gross unfairness and a gross streak of un-Americanism from the radical left, I think that backfires against Joe Biden and the Democrats in 2024,"" the NewsMax Twitter account quoted Rep. Donalds.

Moreover, Rep. Donalds said the Democrats "severely underestimate" how the indictment will serve as a rallying point for Republicans in the 2024 Election.

"I think they severely underestimate this. If you're trying to game plan or game theory the Republican primary, what I think this really does is make it game, set, match for Donald Trump," stated Donalds.

Additionally, he suggested that "independent voters, soft Republicans, even soft Democrats" will be swayed into the Trump camp because they are "tired of the 24/7 news cycle" and see evidence of the Biden Administration's mishandling of the country.

"So move this into the fall elections of next year. I think they have already done the thing that has moved a lot of independent voters, soft Republicans, and even soft Democrats, the people who are tired of the 24/7 news cycle of politics. I think that moves them into the camp of President Trump as well, and here is why: The country's not in a good shape, polling has the country on the wrong track, 70% of Americans believe that. The Chinese are emboldened around the globe, Joe Biden's Presidency has been a disaster, but the number one goal of the Democrats is to criminally go after Donald Trump. He's not been in office, they've continued to go after Donald Trump. This is about gross unfairness and a gross streak of un-Americanism from the radical left. I think that backfires against Joe Biden and the Democrats in 2024," Donalds concluded.
