Abortion
Progressive abortion activists disrupted the 6-week heartbeat bill debate in the Florida House of Representatives on Thursday, throwing propaganda onto the floor of the chamber from the gallery where they were sitting.
Moments after Florida Capitol Police cleared the chamber, the activists began to chant their disapproval of the legislative measure, continuing to toss literature and beverage coasters onto the floor of the Capitol rotunda.
After a self-imposed "water break," the activists, who were part of Occupy Tallahassee, left the building.
While lawmakers negotiated the 58 amendments House Democrats put forth to try to delay the final vote to make abortion illegal after 6 weeks.
House Speaker Paul Renner repeated the Progressive narrative that parents should not have to consent for the child to have an abortion, nor should they “even have notification of an abortion,” adding, “That’s an extreme position. That aligns the Democrat Party with states like China and North Korea.”
The Democratic effort in the Houze is led by Progressive Rep. Anna Eskamani, who is trying to rename the 6-week abortion measure to the “Forced Pregnancy Act" in one of the amendments.
In response to The Floridian’s request for comment. Rep. Eskamani didn’t address Renner’s comparison of the Democratic Party to China and North Korea, rather focused on minor children having abortions.
That is not true, and that's not how abortion care works. I would recommend for anyone who does not understand pregnancy or abortion to talk to medical providers versus using inflammatory talking points,” stated Rep. Eskamani. “The experience for those under 18 is especially challenging, especially for youth that lives in foster care and don't have parents. Important to be empathetic, non-judgmental and apolitical when talking about this issue.”
"Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is healthcare," said Rep. Kelly Skidmore (D) during debate on the House floor.
The measure is expected to pass along political party lines. The companion Senate bill has already passed in the chamber.
