Penguin Publishing Pushes 'GayBCs' for Children in Response to Florida Law

As Americans come to know Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and review his agenda, they will come to find that a lot of his gubernatorial platform is dedicated to what some might call “the culture wars.”

The culture war pertains to societal issues: as in the issues that show how a government (local, state, or federal) would react to a global pandemic, prayer in schools, or transgender ideologies.

However, Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) is up to bat against what some would call “woke ideology”  at the federal level.

Penguin Publishing has put on its website a list of what they call “LGBTQ+ Children’s Books.”

They decided to curate this list in response to the idea that Florida is attempting to “ban discussions of LGBTQ+ identities in schools,” and that “books about LGBTQ+ lives are being removed from Florida’s school library shelves.”

Children’s books on the list include Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle, ‘Twas the Night Before Pride, and The GayBCs.

A playdate extravaganza transforms into a joyful celebration of friendship, love, and identity as four young friends sashay out of all the closets, dress up in a wardrobe fit for kings and queens, and discover the wonders of their imagination. In The GayBCs, M. L. Webb’s playful illustrations and lively poems delight in the beauty of embracing one’s truest self—from A is for Aro and Ace to F is for Family to T is for Trans."

In June, Rep. Mills wanted to prosecute publishing houses that publish pornographic material geared toward children.

“We should make it so that every single publishing house who publishes documents with the explicit purpose of spreading them to underage children, should be brought up as a criminal ally, the same as cyberpornography,” said Rep Mills.

Mills also praised the Parental Rights in Education Bill, also dubbed infamously as the “Don’t Say Gay” Bill by progressive groups and lawmakers, which looks to keep woke literature and lectures out of public schools.

“The parental rights bill is the right start. And that should be the benchmark, the gold standard for each individual governor in each state legislative office.”

“What I want to do at the federal level, however, is just to try and hold these publishing houses accountable at a criminal level, making it a felonious act,” stated Mills.
