Moskowitz Mocks Trump Calling McConnell 'Greatest Threat to America'

Former President Donald Trump recently stated that the greatest threat to the United States is not Russia or China but high-ranking politicians, calling out Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) by name.

Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) commented on the remark during a recent CNN appearance with his trademark sarcasm, asking if Senator McConnell "has a laptop," in reference to Hunter Biden.

"Donald Trump says @LeaderMcConnell is our greatest national security threat. I think @JudiciaryGOP @GOPoversight should immediately hold hearings to investigate this grave threat to our nation. Also does McConnell have a laptop?," Rep. Moskowitz tweeted.

 

 

Rep. Moskowitz suggested this is part of how bizarre the Trump campaign is in general, holding his first rally in Waco which he compared to infamous cult leader David Koresh, and his apparent "spiritual adviser" in the form of musician Ted Nugent.

"This is a guy who went to Waco, Texas, to bring back visions of David Koresh. I mean, he's got Ted Nugent following him around as his spiritual adviser. It's very strange what's going on with Donald Trump," Rep. Moskowitz stated.

As such, Moskowitz meets Trump's accusation of Senator McConnell being the greatest threat to the United States incredulously, since McConnell is "an eighty-year-old who just got out of physical therapy" after his recent head injury.

Additionally, Moskowitz questioned if other high-ranking Republicans such as House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) would be willing to embrace Trump's rhetoric, saying this puts them "in some bad positions."

"Do Republicans in the House think that? Does Comer think that, does he think the greatest threat to America is Mitch McConnell? Is that what Kevin McCarthy thinks, that the greatest threat to America is Mitch McConnell? Trump's going to put some of the Republicans in some bad positions," Moskowitz concluded.
