A new public opinion survey conducted by The Floridian shows that Republican and Independent likely voters in Miami-Dade County would vote for Gov. Ron DeSantis over President Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential general election. Interestingly enough, in the same survey, Independent voters surveyed appear to question the Governor’s legislative agenda of punishing Disney, and to ban Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI)
Of those polled, 34 percent approved of Gov. DeSantis’s effort to strip Disney of its self-ruling status while 31 percent disapprove.
In addition, when if they supported Gov. DeSantis’s ban on CRT and DEI, 36 percent approved of banning CRT and DEI, while 31 percent disapproved.
Both Republican and Democrats broke in favor and against the two measures, respectively, but Independent voters told a different story.
Independents disapproved of DeSantis’s initiative against Disney by 39 percent. Only 27 percent of Independents approved.
On DeSantis ban of CRT and DEI, there wasn’t much change in the polling results.
Independents 0pposed the Governor by a margin of 39-28 percent.
Methodology
The poll was conducted by National Victory Strategies and Groundswell Strategies March 4-7 and consisted of 409 likely Republican, Democratic, and Independent countywide voters. Those surveyed were contacted by bilingual interviewers on their land lines and cellphones. The survey has a margin of error of +/- 4.9%.
