Florida Republicans Pounce on Biden's Dodge of COVID-19 Origins Question

“On COVID origin, will you hold China Accountable?” That was the question Reporter Iris Tao posed to President Joe Biden on Friday as he approached White House reporters,

Upon hearing the question, President Biden turned away, refusing to answer any reporter’s questions.

President Biden’s refusal to answer a question over the now-confirmed Chinese origin of the COVID-19 virus that has killed 1.1 million Americans since it was released from the Wuhan, China laboratory.

During the height of the pandemic, media outlets like CNN excoriated former President Donald Trump for calling the COVID-19 virus the “China virus,” denouncing his claim that the virus came from China.

It appears as if CNN and other media outlets condemned President Trump’s use of the term “China virus.”

“‘Cause, it comes from China. It’s not racist at all, no, not at all. It comes from China, that’s why. I want to be accurate,” Trump said.

Trump reaffirmed his defense of the use of the term, stating, “I have great love for all of the people from our country, but as you know China tried to say at one point … that it was caused by American soldiers. That can’t happen. It’s not gonna happen, not as long as I’m President. It comes from China.”

Republicans were quick to pounce on Biden’s refusal to address the COVID question,

Joe Biden lets them get away with COVID, stealing our secrets, and buying American farmland,” said Nikki Haley, 2024 Republican presidential candidate.

Florida Senator Rick Scott called Biden a “weak leader” for not challenging China and other adversaries.

“Of course, he won’t. @JoeBiden is a weak leader who is allowing our adversaries to go about their business unchallenged,” stated Sen. Scott in response to the video of Biden dodging the COVID question.

Rep. Byron Donalds, another Floridian who has been very critical of the Biden administration, recently stated that Biden had “allowed the Chinese Communist Party to get away with COVID-19.”
