With President Joe Biden blaming House Freedom Caucus for the border crisis, and his press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre saying that the Republican House budget proposal would cause a “5-alarm-fire” for everyday Americans, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds accused Jean-Pierre of “lying.”
During a press conference hosted by Sen. Rick Scott, Rep. Donalds, along with several Freedom Caucus members—Reps. Lauren Boebert, Chip Roy, Scott Perry, Mike Cloud, and others—tore into the Biden administration for proposing to raise the debt ceiling and for its out-of-control spending.
“To the press secretary over at the White House, who said that our plan was to start a 5-alarm fire. You’re lying,” said Rep. Donalds. “I wish you would just take an economics course. Because spending money like Joe Biden wants to, that is the 5-alarm fire.”
Donalds continued, blaming Biden for the “migrant problem” he says President Biden “brought to the United States.”
“If Joe Biden truly believes that his border plan, spending more money for this radical asylum process that he has, is only going to make things better in the country, go ask the mayors of Chicago and New York, because they’re asking the federal government for money to take care of the migrant problem Joe Biden has brought to the United States. We have to be serious. We have to be adults,” said Donalds.
