In a move that is arguably a glaring step forward to announcing a run for President in 2024, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be visiting Israel in April to attend the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem’s “Celebrate the Faces of Israel.”

According to a press release from the Jerusalem Post, DeSantis will be giving the keynote address to about 400 attendees, including 12 U.S. Jewish donors, or “philanthropists.”

“Celebrate the Faces of Israel aims to tackle ever-present tensions in Israel, teach about the country’s history, and introduce the audience to the changemakers who embrace tolerance and acceptance,” states the release.

“A few months after my inauguration for my first term as Governor of Florida, I traveled to Israel for a state visit with the largest ever trade delegation from the Sunshine State to the Jewish State,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Since that time, we have strengthened the relationship between Florida and Israel through increased investment by Israeli companies in our state, fighting the scourge of BDS, and being home to the fastest growing Jewish population in the United States. At a time of unnecessarily strained relations between Jerusalem and

DeSantis’s ties to Israel run deep.

Not only did he visit the country shortly after taking office, as he mentioned, but DeSantis was also able to lure Israel’s El Al Airline to relocate it’s U.S, headquarters to Florida.

On this trade mission trip in 2019, DeSantis also received the Honorary Fellowship Award from Ariel University, the highest honor ever presented to an American governor by the university.
