The Washington Post has seemingly found damning information surrounding Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) right as speculation of him running for President is at an all-time high. The Post alleges that Gov. DeSantis spoke in favor of and witnessed the use of torture during his tenure as a military lawyer at Guantanamo Bay.
It is safe to say that now that because Gov. DeSantis is expected to run for President in 2024, all the political knives, and spoons, are out for him.
Specifically, as the inmates performed a hunger strike against their conditions, to restore peace, DeSantis supposedly said, "hey, you actually can force-feed."
"Hey, you actually can force-feed. Here’s what you can do. Here’s kind of the rules for that," the Post attributes to Gov. DeSantis.
As a result, prisoners were indeed force-fed in a fashion the prisoners' lawyers said violated international torture conventions.
Despite this, DeSantis seemingly justified his time at the prison in a 2018 interview with Jim DeFede, saying "they would wage jihad any way they can" and weaponized human rights complaints.
"They would wage jihad any way they can. Now they're in a facility, so it's limited, but some of the things they would do, they would do hunger strikes, and you actually had three detainees that actually committed suicide with hunger strikes. So everything at that time was legal in nature one way or another," DeSantis said at the time.
Notably, and as we mentioned, this information about DeSantis has only been received with such scrutiny now that he is possibly running for President.
Just last week, a report came out alleging that DeSantis once age chocolate pudding by using three of his fingers.
What's next?
Will one of DeSantis's Little League Baseball teammates come out and accuse him of stealing his Big League Chew grape-flavored gum?
Or, will his Yale University teammates accuse him of sexual assault for possibly performing cup checks during their baseball games?
