Byron Donalds Reacts to Treasury's Potential Proof of Biden Corruption

Share

The Department of the Treasury has released suspicious activity reports connected to Hunter Biden's foreign business deals.

In response, Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) stated, "The fear of accountability should not be why Biden does the right thing, but unfortunately, deceit and nebulous conduct remain par for the course under the Biden administration."

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) requested the reports in January and had to threaten both a hearing and a transcribed interview with Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs Jonathan Davidson to get the Treasury to accommodate.

"It should never have taken us threatening to hold a hearing and conduct a transcribed interview with an official under the penalty of perjury for Treasury to finally accommodate part of our request," Fox News quotes Rep. Comer as saying.

The Treasury hemming and hawing has annoyed Democrats and Republicans, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) introduced a bill last May demanding the Treasury hand over suspicious activity reports no more than 30 days after request.

Rep. Donalds notes this in his statement: "Congresswoman Maxine Waters and I don’t agree on much, but when it comes to congressional oversight of suspicious activity reports related to President Biden and his family, we see eye-to-eye."

"Congresswoman Maxine Waters and I don’t agree on much, but when it comes to congressional oversight of suspicious activity reports related to President Biden and his family, we see eye-to-eye. I applaud Chairman Comer’s efforts in obtaining these pertinent financial documents that the Biden family has fought tooth and nail to hide from Congress and the American people. The fear of accountability should not be why Biden does the right thing, but unfortunately, deceit and nebulous conduct remain par for the course under the Biden administration," Rep. Donalds said.

Additionally, he "look[s] forward to working with Chairman Comer and my colleagues on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee to follow the money and uproot any criminal or compromising behavior by the president’s family."

"I look forward to working with Chairman Comer and my colleagues on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee to follow the money and uproot any criminal or compromising behavior by the president’s family. Getting rich off the backs of hardworking Americans and cashing the dirty money of our adversaries is unbecoming of any American president, and these reports will shed light on the extent of the Biden family quid pro quo enterprise," Donalds concludes.
