This past Friday, eight Israelis were murdered by a Palestinian gunman in Jerusalem. Footage showing Palestinians celebrating the attack circulates on Twitter, to which Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) says that "it is disgusting to see anyone celebrate the murder of innocent people. Always Israel seeks peace and always the terrorists respond with hatred and death. Democratic Israel, our great ally, will never give in to this evil."

More disturbingly, the shooting occurred on Holocaust Remembrance Day. Scott previously spoke of the shooting the day it happened, saying "I'm disgusted and heartbroken to hear about the cowardly attack on a Jerusalem synagogue. Especially on a day like Holocaust Remembrance Day. Israel is a great friend of the United States and we will never tolerate these horrific attacks."

Similarly, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL-19) that night said "this senseless violence is horrifying. Keep the people of Israel in your prayers tonight."

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) also tweets about the attack, saying "today's brutal synagogue attack in Jerusalem, as the world solemnly commemorates International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is absolutely sickening. Sen. Rubio & Mrs. Rubio unite in prayer for the victims of this evil crime. Our nation stands in solidarity & mourns with Israel."

The morning before, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL-25), tweeted about Holocaust Remembrance Day, saying "on Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the memory of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Whenever antisemitism reemerges, we must continue to stand firm in our identity and work together to combat hate. #NeverForget"

Meanwhile, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL-23) tweets that "on the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we are again reminded that antisemitism is a plague that infects our world. During a peaceful shabbat at a synagogue, a Palestinian terrorist targeted & gunned down 8 Israeli citizens. I today & every day stand with Israel."

Finally, Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL-22) tweets "I join all those who are beyond horrified by the terrorist attack in Jerusalem on Shabbat. There is no justification for this type of violence and it must be condemned unequivocally by all. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."
