Scott Says 87,000 New IRS Agents Will Monitor Personal Retail Transactions

In August, President Joe Biden (D) and his administration announced their intention to hire 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents to the government agency At the time and currently, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) is vehemently opposed to that idea as are just about every single Republican lawmaker in Washington, D.C.

According to the Heritage Foundation, the IRS initially listed in their job listing that those looking to join must be ready to “carry a firearm” and “use deadly force, if necessary.” Sen. Scott mentioned that this move was a signal to the American people that the Democrats have made their priorities “crystal clear.”

“The same people that want to defund the police are adding 87,000 armed IRS agents to crack down on American families and small businesses. Democrats have made their radical priorities crystal clear,” stated Sen. Scott.

Now, Sen. Scott is reaffirming his commitment to fighting against the appointment of tens of thousands of IRS agents. He sent out a flurry of tweets on Monday condemning the possibility of the idea yet again.

“The Pelosi-Schumer Spending Bill continues Democrats' plans to hire 87,000 IRS agents so the feds can monitor your Venmo and PayPal accounts. Government doesn't belong in your bank account & I'm fighting to repeal this gross overreach,” stated Sen. Scott.

He would also state that he gave Democrats a choice on this matter.

“Earlier this year, I gave Dems a choice: approve 87,000 new IRS agents, or double our border patrol force to stop illegal immigration. They chose the 87k IRS agents to come after YOU instead of securing the border. That's not what Americans want & I'm fighting to reverse it,” Scott mentioned.

He would bring it home and eventually pin this tweet (meaning it’s now the first tweet you see when you access Sen. Scott’s Twitter profile), saying

“If Democrats are willing to intimidate a private company like Twitter into silencing conservatives, imagine what they'll do with 87,000 more IRS agents. It's a terrifying government overreach, and I'm fighting to stop it. #TwitterFiles,” tweeted Scott.
