Rubio Teams Says he “Gets Things Done for Florida”

One of the most closely watched elections in the state will come to a close on November 8th, and the Rubio campaign is making a final plea for reelection. While Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) is polling ahead of his Democratic rival, the Rubio campaign is stressing just how important this election is. After President Barack Obama (D) endorsed Florida Rep. Val Demings (D), the Rubio campaign is praising the GOP Senator, calling him someone who “gets things done for Florida.”

In a statement, Elizabeth Gregory, the communications director for the Rubio campaign, championed Rubio’s time in office. “Marco has had more bills signed into law in the past two years under a Democrat president and Congress than Demings has in all of her six years in Washington,” said Gregory.

“Unlike Demings, Marco knows that the number one issue facing families today is inflation, and he's going to keep working in the Senate to decrease our reliance on foreign oil and bring good jobs back to the United States,” Gregory concluded.

Polls indicate that Senator Rubio is ahead, and with a week to go before Floridians take to the polls, Demings joined Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) and President Joe Biden (D) at a campaign stop in Miami Gardens.

Last week, President Obama released a video endorsing Demings, praising her background as Orlando Police Chief and urging voters to elect her in the Senate. Political pundits have warned that November could result in a “red wave,” and Senator Rubio is confident that the GOP will “retake Washington.”

While Rubio has criticized Demings, calling her ineffective and a “Pelosi Puppet,” the Senatorial hopeful has highlighted that she will protect the right to choose while also referencing her background in law enforcement. However, this has brought controversy as a number of law enforcement groups have endorsed Rubio, arguing that Demings has turned her back on the law enforcement community.
