Mast Introduces Bill Cutting Red Tape for Veterans

Congressman Brian Mast (R-FL)  has introduced the Veterans Homecare Choice Act.

This bill looks to make it easier for those who served our country to have more options when it comes to picking their homecare service providers. Should the bill be sent to the President’s desk at some point, red tape would be reduced to allow veterans a more streamlined way to decide how they want to be taken care of as they age.

“Veterans, more than anyone, have earned the right to live their lives as they see fit, especially as they age,” Mast stated. “If they choose to stay in their own homes as they get older, red tape in Washington should not prevent them from making that choice. This bill is a simple fix that will expand access to valuable homecare services that improve the lives of veterans and their families,” he concluded.

This bill also draws bipartisan support. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) approved of the bill as well.

Overall, Mast believes that this bill will make a technical correction that will clarify Congressional intent and restore veterans’ freedom to choose the homecare service that best fits their needs.”

Last week, Mast expressed that he was could be introducing legislation to revamp the VA Home Loan program.
