Defunding Ukraine
Reps. Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, and new guy, Congressman-elect Cory Mills, held a press conference Thursday in the Capitol to announce a bill to audit the recent funding for Ukraine.
Rep. Greene's bill was straightforward and had the blessing of House Republican Leadership Stay tuned for a complete write-up at The Floridian.
Interestingly enough, this was Congressman-elect Mills’ very first congressional press conference. He hasn’t even been sworn in and is already being asked to participate in member activities.
Mills, a foreign policies guru, was sitting in the peanut gallery (press area) watching when Rep. Greene’s aides noticed him and plucked him out.
Mills stepped up and eased right into the role.
Pelosi Steps Done From Leadership
With Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing that she was stepping down from leadership, it marked the end of a very long successful, yet controversial, hold on to power by the Democratic Party.
Some, actually many Democrats were caught off guard by Speaker Pelosi’s decision this week to step down.
Rep. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is the senior member of the Florida Democratic Congressional Caucus, called Speaker Pelosi her “hero” and a “courageous pioneer.”
Newer members like Rep. Sheila Cherfilus McCormick and Congressman-elect Jared Moskowitz also praised the iconic leader moments after she addressed the Congress of her intentions to hang it up. READ MORE
