Bryon Donalds Addresses NYC Crime Ahead of Midterms

Share

During an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s show, The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) gave his thoughts on the rising crime in New York City, and what is causing the citywide misconduct in the first place. As someone that grew up in Brooklyn, Donalds shared personal stories about the streets he walked that are now dealing with crime.

“I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. My mother and I wanted safe streets. Those are the streets I walked to go to school and to walk to the playground to play basketball. Black Americans have to deal with this because of the Democrats that run their cities,” said Rep. Donalds.

During his time on the show, he would also go into more detail concerning crime in Democrat-controlled cities, and how that affects African Americans. He stated, “Typically in America where you have violent crime, especially in Democrat run cities, which is frankly, where most of it does reside if you look at the data, it’s because you have liberal politicians who simply do not care about the conditions of what’s happening in urban communities, and most urban communities are populated with black Americans,” said Donalds while on the Fox News program.

With just days before the midterm elections, the Republican gubernatorial nominee in New York, Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) has made crime one of his most important issues. Some might argue that his focus on that very issue reduced the 20 point disadvantage that he faced against Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) earlier this year.

Will Republicans take back the House? Will they regain control of the Senate? For updates concerning the midterm elections, The Floridian has you covered.
