Trump Believes DeSantis 'Can't Take him Down' in 2024

Share

Former President Donald Trump has just taken another political jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with a video he released on his Truth Social, where the President agrees with Megan Kelly’s assertion that DeSantis can’t beat Trump in 2024.

During an interview with David Rubin, the former Fox News anchor said that she believes Trump clears the field if he runs.

“I just don’t think anybody else could win if Trump runs,” said Kelly.

When Rubin asked her if she didn’t think DeSantis was “crafty enough” to take on Trump on a debate stage, Kelly stated, “No. I don’t even think that a little. I think Trump sucks up all the energy in each room. No matter what.”

Kelly continued,” And even someone as skilled as a politician and smart policy-wise as DeSantis can’t overcome that. He can’t.”

Kelly then questioned, “You really think a hardcore MAGA is going to abandon Trump for DeSantis?”

In addition, Kelly said that Trump’s supporters like DeSantis, but they feel DeSantis needs to wait his turn because he owes Trump his political career,

“The hardcore Trump faithful is unshakeable. They like DeSantis, but they would never cross Trump for him. And they think DeSantis owes his political career to Trump,” added Kelly. If forced to choose, they will choose Trump. DeSantis can’t take him down…He won’t win over Trump.”

Earlier in the week, Trump announced that he was holding a rally for Senator Marco Rubio in Miami next week. Gov. DeSantis was not invited to the event, and Trump has not offered to do a rally to help the popular governor win re-election.

There is clear tension between Trump and DeSantis.

DeSantis is rumored to be considering a presidential run in 2024 regardless if Trump runs.

Sens. Rubio and Ted Cruz stated that if Trump runs, they would most like not.

“If he runs, he would instantly clear the field,” said Sen. Rubio.

There is a lot of truth to what Kelly said. All the recent public opinion polls taken of Republican and Conservative-minded voters still show Trump with overwhelming support among the base of the Republican Party.

DeSantis is a distant second place, but continues to creep up in the polls after all but single-handily taken on the Progressive Democratic Party and the “Legacy Media” since taking office since Trump left office in 2020.

The Floridian recently reported that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) put out a email that appears to divide the Republican Party by pitting DeSantis against Trump in a potential 2020 Presidential primary contest.

The NRCC has never sent an email like this, so could the establishment Republicans in Washington siding against Trump before the 2022 midterm elections?
