Taddeo Shares new ad With Former Salazar Voters

Florida state Senator Annette Taddeo (D) has released a new advertisement, taking a political swipe at Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R). In the advertisement, two former Salazar supporters comment on why they’re not voting for Salazar in the upcoming election. Sharing the ad on social media, Taddeo shared that she’s gained their support because she puts “country above party.”

Wilfredo Allen, an immigration attorney, and J.C. Planas, a former member of the Florida House, both share comments about their disappointment in previously voting for Salazar.

Planas, upon President Donald Trump (R) being elected to office, switched his party affiliation to Democrat. As voters, Planas voted for Salazar in 2018, and Allen commented that he had previously voted twice for Salazar, but both will now be voting blue in the upcoming election.

“She supported government control of a woman’s body,” argued Allen, saying that voting for Salazar “was wrong.”

Planas further expressed that “Maria Elvira Salazar wants to increase taxes on the middle class” and that “she has not done a good job of standing up to socialism.” Planas also commented that she has his support because “Annette has always been an independent voice, making sure that everyone has an opportunity to live the American Dream.”

Sharing the advertisement on social media, Taddeo added that Planas and Allen are "now supporting our campaign because they know I will always put my country above party and deliver real results for Miami."

The race for Florida's 27th district continues to capture the attention of voters, considering that the constituents have elected both Republicans and Democrats in the last two elections. Polling between Salazar and Taddeo shows Taddeo's campaign gaining traction.

Last month, Taddeo issued a letter to Salazar, challenging her to 4 televised debates. Two debates would be carried out in Spanish, and two debates would be carried out in English, but Salazar has not yet responded to the challenge.
