Ahead of the midterm elections, President Donald Trump (R) announced that he would be heavily involved in campaigning for Republican candidates. Trump has provided a slew of endorsements and campaign appearances, but now his 2016 rival is also engaging with Democrats on the road to November. In a newly released video, Secretary Hillary Clinton (D) addressed Democrats ahead of the election, arguing that Democrats must “lead the way.”
Secretary Clinton has largely remained quiet as far as endorsements are concerned, but did endorse Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) in his bid for congressional district 22.
While it’s been speculated that Clinton could be gearing up for a potential 2024 run, the Secretary of State hasn’t directly addressed whether or not she’ll be launching another presidential bid. However, during a time when political pundits argue that Republicans could pick up significant wins, Clinton is calling on Democrats to “lead the way” on issues and in the political landscape.
“For the first time in generations, young women today may grow up with fewer rights than their mothers, let alone their brothers,” says Clinton in her address.
“The Supreme Court’s decision - to take away a woman’s right to choose to make decisions over the most intimate kinds of issues that any woman faces – is a threat to every woman’s health, life, and freedom,” Clinton continued.
Last month, President Joe Biden (D) promised voters to that Democrats would codify the right to abortions into law if voters elected two more Democrats to the Senate.
“If you give me two more senators in the United States Senate, I promise you, I promise you, we’re going to codify Roe and once again make Roe the law of the land,” the President said at the National Education Association in Washington D.C.
To ensure that the right to choose is preserved, Clinton called on Democrats “to lead the way to reclaiming our rights and our freedom.”
