Legislators such as Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) have supplied their opinions on the recent inflation numbers that have come out for the month of September, and those numbers are staggering. With household items such as corn, grains, and turkeys up at least 30% since last year, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) is now giving his two-cents as well.

“The latest inflation report is very bad. A 40-year high in core inflation. Prices rising FOUR TIMES faster than in August. Biden’s failed economic policies force Americans to pay more for everything,” wrote Mast in a tweet.

In a blog post on Mast’s Congressional website, the Florida Congressman calls out President Joe Biden (D) for the highest inflationary numbers since the 80s.

“I wish I could start this morning with happy news, but the reality is much more grim,” wrote Mast. He continued, “The latest inflation report shows that core inflation is now at the highest level since the early 1980s with inflation increasing faster than expected this month. In fact, overall inflation rose FOUR TIMES faster than in August.”

Brian Mast blames the Democratic-controlled branches of government (executive and legislative) for working together and passing spending bills that have failed the economy and have given the American people the check at the dinner table.

“The cause is clear. President Biden and his congressional allies have passed spending bill after spending bill, squandering hundreds of billions of dollars. Their failed economic policies have forced Americans to pay more for everything," said Rep. Mast.

Mast, a vocal member of Florida’s Congressional representation, faces Corinna Robinson (D) in less than a month on November 8th.

“I will continue to stand with you and fight back against this radical agenda that is hurting Americans all across the country,” concluded Mast.
