Rick Scott Trades Blows with President Joe Biden over his 'Rescue America Plan'

Share

Washington-—Florida Senator Rick Scott has once again taken on the Biden administration, this time its over his proposed ‘Rescue America Plan’.

Senator Rick Scott exchanged tweets with President Biden after the latter criticized Scott’s intention to “put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block”

Senator Scott replied by reminding President Biden how his administration has “tried to cut Social Security & just slashed $280B from Medicare, (while Scott is) fighting to protect these programs.”

According to Senator Rick Scott, the ‘Rescue America Plan’ has been drafted by his team as a 12-step process (originally 11) aimed to push back against the “militant left” and repair the damages caused by their policies.

In a letter drafted by Scott to explain the plan, he states that it serves as a roadmap for Republicans once “the American people…put Republicans in control of the Senate and House in 2022".

The plan itself covers a broad range of topics, from Education to Color Blind Equality, to Gender, Life, and Science issues, and many more. While Senator Scott has acknowledged the ambitious nature of his plan, he believes that failing to act will mean “the beginning of the end of America.”

Scott’s ‘Rescue America Plan’ has received support from ex-conservative politicians and popular conservative figures but is still being evaluated for widespread support by the rest of the Republican party.

Recently, Scott has remained in the spotlight as earlier this week he was again the center of attention, this time regarding an internal GOP dispute. Namely, the dispute has been fueled by Scott’s ambiguity vis-a-vis his support, or lack thereof, for Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s continued leadership of Senate Republicans.
