Rick Scott Demands Biden Prosecute Iranian President Raisi for Assassination Plots Against US Citizens

Share

As the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government continues cracking down on protestors, killing many demonstrators for denouncing the regime’s recent killing of Mahsa Amini, Florida Senator Rick Scott has called on President Joe Biden to prosecute Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi “horrific crimes” committed and for planning assassinations.

President Raisi was recently allowed to enter the U.S. and address the United Nations General Assembly.

Sen. Scott accuses Raisi of serving on a Death Commission that sentenced some 5,000 people to death.

“Throughout his time in government, he engaged in international crimes including extrajudicial prosecution, torture and execution. Because of his crimes, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned Raisi in 2019, and in 2021 the U.S. State Department followed suit,” stated Scott.

Scott would then qualify his request for the U.S. to prosecute Raisi for planning to assassinate both former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo./

“Then, just this year, the U.S. Department of Justice shockingly revealed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) plotted to assassinate U.S. officials on American soil. One IRGC plot to kill former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former U.S. National Security Advisor, John Bolton, began just two months after Raisi took office as president. Further reports have surfaced showing that the IRGC has been plotting a similar assassination against former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,” added Scott.

This story is developing.
