Cammack Claims Gov. Newsom is "Jealous" of DeSantis While Discussing Border Crisis

Governor Ron DeSantis's decision to send 50 illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard last week continues to stir up emotions. Monday morning, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (R-FL-3) tweeted her segment on Fox News' Faulkner Focus discussing the fallout of the move, specifically how California Governor Gavin Newsom sought to press kidnapping charges against DeSantis. Rep. Cammack points out that Newsom seems to be focused more on getting back at DeSantis than he is on fixing California's myriad of problems.

"Only when Governor DeSantis and Governor Abbott take action does the border crisis become newsworthy for the mainstream media. Shame on the Biden administration for ignoring the public health, humanitarian, and national security crisis that he has created at the southern border," Cammack's tweet reads.

In the video itself, Cammack begins by shooting back at Democrats' calling the movement of migrants to Martha's Vineyard "inhumane." "The only thing that's inhumane and cruel," says Cammack, "is the Biden administration's open border policies." Continuing, she elaborates, "and that's what's going to change. And Americans will never forget the open border policies that have simultaneously created a public health crisis, a humanitarian crisis, and a national security crisis."

Cammack provides specific examples of the latter issue, in that "allowing members of international terrorist watchlists to come across this border, and gang members, drugs, they have destroyed our national security in that respect, and we will not let them forget it."

The host then brings up the major focus of the discussion, Gavin Newsom. Newsom had tweeted his idea that Gov. DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott should be charged with kidnapping for the move. She suggests that Newsom "wakes up to these issues when he can use it as a political weapon, but not before." Cammack agrees, "yeah, I mean, it's kind of concerning, the obsession that California Governor Newsom has with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. I think there's maybe a hint of jealousy."
