Trump: "Release the Documents Now!"

Share

The unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago by the FBI on Monday is easily the most explosive story of 2022. Friday morning, former President Donald Trump put out a statement demanding that the documents attached to the search warrant be released.

"Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago," the statement begins, adding, "I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents."

This comes in the wake of the continuing developments about the Monday morning raid. According to CNN, the raid was over supposed classified material, some of which related to nuclear weapons that Trump had supposedly taken illegally from the White House. Thursday afternoon, Attorney General Merrick Garland finally gave a public address about the raid. In a brief press conference, Garland states that he "personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter."

Additionally, Garland is quoted to say, "faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy. Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor. Under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing."

"So the FBI was not acting alone as everyone was told… As usual allies never had up and the “conspiracy theorists” were right yet again. You can’t trust a single thing these people tell you!!!," tweeted Trump Jr.

This echoes the last two sentences of Donald Trump Sr.'s statement.

"This unprecedented political weaponization of law enforcement is inappropriate and highly unethical. The world is watching as our Country is being brought to a new low, not only on our border, crime, economy, energy, national security, and so much more, but also with respect to our sacred elections!

"Release the documents now," stated Trump.
