Rubio Calls Demings ‘a Do-Nothing Congresswoman’

Over the weekend, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) joined One Nation with Brian Kilmeade to discuss a number of topics, including his race against Florida Rep. Val Demings (D). Officially the senatorial candidate in the general election, Rep. Demings has embarked on her "Running to Win" tour across the state. In response to his challenger, Rubio is calling Demings ‘a Do-Nothing Congresswoman.”

During his interview with Kilmeade, Rubio addressed Demings’ time in office, arguing that it has resulted in little to gain Demings' support for the Senate.

“She’s been in Congress for six years, has never passed a single bill. And no one in the media will ask her, ‘what have you done for the last six years?’ Rubio questioned.

Demings, who’s vying to unseat Rubio, has combatted Rubio by arguing that he doesn’t show up for work, which was the basis for a political advertisement against the Florida Republican.

In response to his challenger, Rubio argued that his time in office proves that he has yielded positive results for Floridians.

“I got not one, but two VA accountability bills passed. I get burn pits legislation passed. I get multiple bills on China passed, which gets me sanctioned and banned by the Chinese. I wrote and passed the PPP program, why by the way, is nothing like the student loan issue,” Rubio explained, directing verbal jabs at the Biden administration after the President announced a student loan forgiveness program.

“The PPP program didn’t go to the business owner. They went to the worker. They were designed to keep people employed because the government told businesses they couldn’t open. So it was either get PPP or put everyone on the unemployment rolls of the country. And PPP was a better use of that,” Rubio affirmed.

In contrast, Demings supports the student loan forgiveness program, assuring that it “will expand opportunity for everyone.”
