Rubio Called 'Driving Force' for Veterans Burn pit Care

The Rubio campaign has released a new advertisement, calling Rubio ‘a driving force’ for ensuring care for veterans that are exposed to toxic burn pits. This week also marks when the House voted in favor of the the Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act of 2021.

The legislation includes provisions from Florida Senator Marco Rubio’s (R) Presumptive Benefits for war Fighters Exposed to Burn Pits and Other Toxins Act that he introduced with New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D).

Commenting on the legislation, Rubio expressed that lawmakers are finally doing what we should have done two decades ago," adding that "Once President Biden signs this bill into law, our veterans will finally be able to access the care they desperately need and selflessly earned."  Moreover, Rubio mentioned that he would be working with the Biden Administration and... colleagues to make sure the bill is implemented fully, and our veterans never again suffer from bureaucratic delays and neglect.”

Highlighting the legislation, the Rubio team released an advertisement, which focuses on the effort Rubio has engaged in to ensure that veterans receive this care. Elizabeth Gregory, the Communications Director for the Rubio campaign, further expressed that "Marco Rubio gets things done" and that "veterans exposed to toxic burn pits are going to get the care they need and deserve thanks to a major push by Marco."

The White House also released a statement, championing the legislation and affirming that the bill "delivers on President Biden's promise to America's veterans."

"President Biden made clear that supporting those who wear the uniform is a commitment that unites all Americans – Democrats, Republicans, and Independents – and why he made supporting our veterans a core element of his Unity Agenda," reads the statement, detailing the provisions that are included in the bill.
