West Palm Beach—Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed circuit court Judge Renatha Francis to the Florida Supreme Court.
Gov. DeSantis made the announcement during a press conference at the Richard & Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum
"I'm incredibly honored and humbled by this appointment to continue my service to the people of our great state of Florida," Francis said.
Before DeSantis presented Judge Francis, he spoke about the need to uphold the “rule of law” across the country, citing cities like San Francisco that have turned its back on “working class communities” by implementing “insane policies” that have reeked chaos across the country.
“It's very important that they (judges) are able to discern the rule of law from legislative will, and when you're applying that rule of law faithfully, it makes our freedoms stronger, it makes our community stronger, and makes our state thrive,” stated DeSantis.
Earlier in the week, DeSantis fired Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warner for dereliction of duty.
Later in the day, DeSantis appointed Cynthia Oster to the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Marc Makholm as Judge of the Hillsborough County Court, and Barbara-Jo Bell to Judge on the Hernando County Court.
