Team DeSantis: 'Brandon Fails... DeSantis Leads'

Share

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) and Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) continue to amass support as they inch closer to the August 23rd primary. While both candidates have sharply rejected the DeSantis administration, Governor DeSantis has remained largely mum over his Democratic rivals. However, Governor DeSantis has repeatedly chided President Joe Biden (D), fueling speculation that he will launch a 2024 presidential run. In a message to supporters, Team DeSantis further chides Biden, arguing that "where Brandon fails, Governor DeSantis leads."

Commissioner Fried has gained the endorsement of both Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas and the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida. Taking to social media to share the endorsements, Fried called Penelas "the consummate public servant," who's "dedicated much of his career to improving the lives of the people of Miami-Dade and of Florida." Moreover, she affirmed that she'll be "a governor who cares about the environment and is committed to environmental justice."

But just as Democrats rally support in the hopes of winning big in November, Governor DeSantis has maintained that the GOP will usher in a "red wave," and one of the reasons why he maintains this position is because "Brandon fails."

Team DeSantis released a message to supporters, saying that "Brandon has failed to enact commonsense border security policies that would keep Americans safe from the unimpeded flow of illegal immigration and life-threatening drugs pouring across our southern border."

In turn the Team highlighted "three significant actions Florida is taking to address the border crisis."

The steps include:

  1. Establishing a strike force of state and local law enforcement to interdict drug smuggling and human trafficking and to seize illegal weapons being transported through the state.
  2. Petitioning the Florida Supreme Court for a statewide grand jury to examine international human smuggling networks which bring illegal aliens to the southern border, how it impacts Florida, and how the organizations have violated Florida law.
  3. Prohibiting government agencies from contracting with any common carrier facilitating the resettlement of illegal aliens into Florida.

The Team assures that these measures will protect Floridians because "where Brandon fails, Governor DeSantis leads."
