Rick Scott Says Biden Playing 'Blame game' on Gas Prices

Share

While the Biden Administration has either blamed rising gas prices on corporate price gouging or Vladimir Putin, US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has called out President Biden (D) for playing the, "blame game."

Senator Rick Scott has swiftly become one of Biden's biggest adversaries in the U.S. Senate. Previously, Sen. Scott orchestrated an entire commercial just to call for Joe Biden's resignation.

Biden has also taken his fair amount of shots at Scott, calling the Senator, "ultra-MAGA," and implying that there is something seriously wrong with the Senator's character.

Biden recently made public remarks on concerning gas prices this week where he stated, "That's why gas prices are up, is because of Russia.  Russia, Russia, Russia.  The reason why the food prices exist is because of Russia, Russia not allowing grain to get out of Ukraine."

While the president has blamed Russia for rising gas prices before, it seems that the administration is simultaneously arguing that corporations' price gouging is to blame.  Senator Scott picked up on this inconsistency and took to Twitter with his complaints.

"Biden's blame game is getting old."  Scott added, "If he actually cared about the rising gas prices that are hurting American families he would do something about it."

While the Scott-Biden feud has been one of the longest standing in Washington, this is not their first debate over gas prices.  Last month when the president boasted about his achievements on Twitter, Scott used inflation and gas to rebut the president's apparent confidence.

"The day before you took office, inflation was 1.4% and the average cost of gas was $2.39 per gallon. Today, inflation is 8.3% and gas is nearly $5 per gallon. Under your admin, American families are suffering."  Scott said.

Scott's well known 11 Point Plan has also stood in the way of the Biden administration policies.  Americans could see the argument shift from rising gas prices to student loan forgiveness, an issue the president is being pressured to pursue by his own party and an idea Scott could not be more opposed to.
