DeSantis Seizes on CNN's Poll Showing Biden's Approval Rating at 31%

President Joe Biden’s (D) approval rating continues to take a hit, and a new CNN poll indicates that the President continues to lose support among his own Democratic base. The results of the poll show that 31% of Democrats and left-leaning voters would prefer if someone other than the President was the nominee in 2024.

According to CNN, “75% of Democratic-leaning voters want someone other than President Biden in the 2024 election." President Donald Trump (R) has similarly faced backlash in recent polls, and lawmakers like Rep. Liz Cheney (R) are even mulling over a presidential run to provide an alternative to President Trump should he decide to run. That same poll indicated that "a majority of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters say they do not want former President Donald Trump to be their party’s nominee in the 2024 presidential election."

The data shows that "fifty-five percent say they want someone else other than Trump to be the nominee, which is up from 49% in a January/February poll.."

CNN reports that “the poll comes as the President’s approval ratings remain low and most Americans are discontented with the state of the country and the economy,” adding that “inflation remains high and a new report released Tuesday showed consumer confidence slipped for the third straight month.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), a sharp critic of President Biden, has engaged in a rivalry with the President. Frequently commenting on President Biden's waning popularity, Governor DeSantis further took issue with the President's administration this week.

In a message to supporters, Governor DeSantis argued the following:

  • President Joe Biden is coming after me.
  • The full might of the Democrat Party is out to get me.
  • And Left-wing Democrat collaborators in Big Tech, Leftist media, and woke corporations are doing all they can to smear, censor, and destroy me personally and politically.

Republicans have similarly argued that the President is responsible for rising inflation and other issues in the political landscape.
