Rubio: Senate Election 'a Very Clear Choice'

Over the weekend, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) discussed his upcoming Senate race against Florida Rep. Val Demings (D) in an interview with Spectrum News 13 Orlando. Rep. Demings, after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe vs. Wade, has amped up her campaign, criticizing Rubio as an enemy of women's rights. However, in the interview, Rubio calls the upcoming election "a very clear choice," outlining the distinction between himself and Rep. Demings.

During the interview, the Florida Senator discussed a range of topics, including President Joe Biden (D), the support his campaign has received from the law enforcement community, and Senator Rubio also explained what he feels is the distinction between him and Demings.

For him, the biggest distinction is legislative.

"When small businesses in America were on the verge of being destroyed, I wrote and I passed the Paycheck Protection Program. It’s my law that saved millions of jobs," Rubio explained, adding that "there’s millions of businesses in this country that would have gone out of business had I not done that."

He went on to explain that he's passed bills regarding VA reform, bills tackling the algae blooms affecting the Everglades, and "multiple bills that take on China," adding that he transmutes "ideas into action and pass laws."

"I was ranked the most effective Republican Senator by two separate non-partisan groups," Rubio added, commenting that "Val Demings has never passed a bill. Not one. She’s been there for six years."

"I want everybody to ask her, ‘well what have you done in the six years you have been there except do interviews on MSNBC and raise money for her campaign?’" Rubio questioned, affirming that Demings has "done nothing" during her time in the house."

As a result, "that’s the choice people are going to have," Rubio said, criticizing the Senatorial hopeful because "she’s voted with Nancy Pelosi one hundred percent of the time."
