Rubio: Heavily Invested Liberal Network is Attempting to "Wipe Out Hispanic Conservative Voices"

Share

It was just announced recently that Latino Media Network has purchased the formerly TelevisaUnivision backed radio station, Radio Mambi out of Miami. Radio Mambi is a well-known conservative news program in South Florida’s Cuban community, but conservatives now fear that the new owners could steer the station in a new direction.

For instance, co-founder and the chair of the board of the Latino Media Network, Stephanie Valencia, was a special assistant to the president and principal deputy director of public engagement under the Obama administration according to the Miami Herald. Jess Morales Rocketto, the former director of civic engagement for the National Domestic Workers Alliance is accompanying Valencia with the startup of the new Latino media outlet. She is the other co-founder of the network.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), a Miami native, shared his thoughts about the sale of the station with a tweet saying,

“The purchase of a conservative language radio station @radiomambi710 by left-wing investors is part of the leftist plan to wipe out Hispanic conservative voice," stated Sen. Rubio.

If the conservative fears are true, and this purchase is a targeted attempt to “wipe out Hispanic conservative voices,” from the liberal point of view, it would make sense.

According to a May 18th Quinnipiac poll, President Joe Biden (D) has just a 26% approval rating with Hispanics. According to The New York Post, at the same time last year, a similar poll by Quinnipiac showed that Biden had a 29% disapproval rating.

In one year, Biden’s approval among Hispanics has gone from 2:1 to 1:2. Every president leaves coattails down the ballot. The U.S. does not vote for political parties like they do in Britain.

The 2022 midterm elections is expected to be a Republican "Red Wave" where voters will repudiate the economic policies put forward by the Biden administration. This election could be sign of what is to come in the 2024 presidential election.
