Wasserman Schultz Goes Scorched Earth on DeSantis, GOP

Share

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) went on MSNBC’s PoliticsNation with Rev. Al Sharpton to discuss Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and his latest political moves before the 2022 midterm elections. Rep. Wasserman Schultz said that Republicans have an obsession with “The Big Lie,” and that it is “their litmus test.”

“The contrast between the absolutely absent, empty, zero record agenda of the Republicans all only focused on advancing The Big Lie. The Big Lie is their litmus test," said Wasserman Schultz. " That’s the Republican agenda, hook, line, and sinker. And if you don’t adhere to it as a Republican, we’re going to clearly show in congressional districts across the country, the contrast and the choice that voters have, and that’s why I think we’re going to do well in November.”

When asked about DeSantis’selection police,” the Republican long game, and gerrymandering, Wasserman Schultz’s response was hard hitting.

The veteran congresswoman from South Florida claimed that  DeSantis made it “very clear that Republicans don’t want black voters to vote”.

“The Ron DeSantis Republican longer end game is between the election police he established in the state of Florida, the voter suppression laws in Florida that he’s continued to pursue and states across the country have as well, and the elimination of Congressman Lawson and Congresswoman Deming’s districts. It makes it very clear that Republicans don’t want black voters to vote, and they don’t want black representation in Congress. There’s just no other way to define and explain these tactics," concluded Wasserman Schultz.
