In an appearance on Fox News, gubernatorial candidate Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried (D-FL) bashed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL)for making Florida like other blue states, such as, "California and New York."
In a Tweet, Commissioner Nikki Fried vowed to, "expose Ron DeSantis’ failures on our economy anywhere and everywhere, including Fox News." This Tweet was paired with a clip of Fried ironically comparing DeSantis' apparent failures to the works of California and New York."
When asked about how unaffordable it is to live in Miami, FL, Fried responded with, "First of all, Ron DeSantis has made Florida, California and New York under his policies. And affordability is the number one issue that I hear on the ground."
Because of this, "crisis," Fried has promised that if she is elected governor, "day one of my administration, I declare a state of emergency on housing because that's what's happened here in our state."
Fried then countered the now-popular conservative talking point of inflation, "Hearing these rents increasing by 30, 40, 50, 60%. That's not inflation."
Recently, Florida has entered a dispute with the Walt Disney corporation in what some people have labeled a, "culture war." Fried blasted DeSantis for not paying attention to the, "affordability issue," and, "instead of tackling those issues that are actually impacting people's lives every single day, he's getting into a fight with Disney. He's having special sessions on our congressional maps, not focusing on the issues that are actually impacting us."
What is interesting however, is Fried's example of California and New York to show what she views as DeSantis' failures. Conservatives largely consider these two states to be the result of Liberal policies.
