Webster, Scott, Rubio Recommend Multiple Florida Locations for New Space Endeavors

According to a recent Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL) press release, the Congressman alongside Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rick Scott (R-FL) have sent a letter advocating for the usage of Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as the “permanent location for the U.S. Space Force’s (USSF) Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM).”

“Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral SFS hold a unique place in America’s history of space flight and exploration” the politicians penned. “Every crewed mission to space in our nation’s history has launched from Brevard County, Florida. From Apollo, to the Space Shuttle, and the future Artemis missions, Florida has served as our nation’s gateway to the stars. NASA and DoD formed significant bonds with the local community, private industry, and academic institutions for more than half a century.”

Ever since 2011 when the crewed missions were deemed complete and it seemed as though Americans might not ever go into orbit again, people have been itching to see the United States government get back in the realm of space. However, with former President Donald Trump’s (R) introduction of the Space Force and with private companies such as Space X and Blue Origin coming into the forefront, it seems as though it’s all anyone can talk about.
