Rubio Calls 'Don't say gay' Proponents 'a Bunch of Liars' (VIDEO)

Weston—U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was asked about his thoughts regarding the Parental Rights in Education bill, aka, the "Don't say gay" bill that Gov. Ron DeSantis recently signed into law.

Sen. Rubio, a devout practicing Catholic, told The Floridian that he did not support school teachers instructing children about any form of sexuality. Rubio believes that teaching kids about sex is up to the families, and the families alone, not school teachers.

“I don't want children between the ages of five and nine being talked to about sexuality of any kind, that’s up to families to decide. I don't think kids 5-9 are that interested in it frankly,” said Rubio.

Rubio backed Gov. DeSantis in opposing “state taxpayer money” to be used to “indoctrinate kids as young as 5, 6, and seven” with “radical ideas.”

Rubio took a swipe at the controversial Critical Race Theory, saying he wanted to see children be taught math and to “learn about real history” before calling those who called the bill the “Don’t Say Gay” measure “a bunch of liars.

“I want them teaching kids to learn how to do math, how to read, to learn about real history. That's what I want to learn between the ages of five and nine not this crazy stuff. And but the vast majority of people and the people calling it whatever they're calling it are a bunch of liars,” concluded Rubio.

A recent poll found that most Americans support the measure DeSantis signed into law.

DeSantis law is expected to be challenged in federal court.
