Brewer Hand-Delivers Letter to Joy Reid Demanding an Apology

MSNBC has long been criticized by conservatives over its reporting, and critics of the Biden Administration only amplified their criticism when Jen Psaki announced she would be seeking a new post with the news outlet. Now, after announcing that he would be suing MSNBC’s Joy Reid, Jack Brewer, the former NFL player turned political advocate, will be formally issuing a letter to Reid calling for an apology over comments she made after a DeSantis event.

Brewer traveled to New York City this weekend and hand-delivered the notice.

Obtained by The Floridian, the letter is addressed to Joy Reid and MSNBC, references comments Joy Reid directed to Brewer.

During Governor DeSantis’ signing of Florida’s “Stop Woke” Legislation, Brewer and children part of Brewer’s Jack Brewer Organization were in attendance, and Reid issued a tweet, calling it a “mis-use of Black Boys,” which “is tantamount to child abuse.”

Reid added, “I would really like to hear the back-story on who these kids were and how they wound up at a DeSantis event. Given how anti-Black DeSantis is, using Black children this way is extra sick.”

In response, Brewer rights that “the only thing ‘extra sick’ is the offensive tweet by Ms. Reid that slandered my name as a child abuser, and recklessly and maliciously placed young kids in danger.”

“Ms. Reid should know the kids she exposed are victims of schools that limit their educational success based on their demographic makeup, as a result of public schools embracing CRT,” Brewer added, saying that “The Governor DeSantis’ event was a big moment for these kids to experience the political process and meet community leaders who could be beneficial to their future.”

Citing that “certain people motivated by Reid’s comments are furiously trying to figure out their identifies,” which has resulted in increased security presence.

As a result, Brewer, his foundation, and the Heroes program are demanding that Reid issue “a public apology by Monday, May 2nd at 9:00 am.”
