Brady Duke Supports DeSantis's Newly-Signed Abortion law

Share

Former Navy SEAL and Congressional hopeful Brady Duke (R) spoke to The Floridian at  Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) recent bill signing event in Kissimmee for House Bill 5, which outlaws abortion procedures 15 weeks after conception.

When asked about the event and the signing of the bill, Duke replied, “I think the event was excellent. I think this is definitely a step in the right direction. I’m always going to be fighting for life. I think life starts at conception and so I think we’re moving in the right direction. It’s a good start.”

The bill has been heavily criticized by those on the left and was strongly contested when the bill came to the argumentative stages. It was perhaps the most heavily contested bill of the legislative session until the Parental Rights in Education Bill (known by some as the "Don’t say gay"bill) caught the nation in a frenzy.

Duke went on to proclaim, “And I do believe that God made every single person with intrinsic value, and we have to recognize that as humans we have to give each other that respect.”

When asked about his campaign and how his prior SEAL Team experience has influenced him.

The married father of 5 young children says that he is trained to work under extreme pressure.

“You know, we’re trained to make decisions under stress. We’re trained to prioritize things and execute things and I think largely people are dissatisfied with the government right now because they are not seeing execution done on their behalf. We have politicians that are more eager to ensure they’re reelection is secure than actually executing on what the needs of the people are," said Duke.

Brady Duke is running for the open Congressional seat in District 7

against Rep. Anthony Sabatini, Combat Veteran Cory Mills, former Debary Vice Mayor Erika Benefield, former D.C, insider Rusty Roberts, Scott Sturgill, and a few other candidates.
