Soto Supports Biden Claim, Accuses U.S. Oil of Price Gouging

Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL) has joined a multitude of Democrats, including Val Demings (D-FL) and President Joe Biden (D), in declaring that American oil companies are to blame for rising gas prices in the U.S.

According to Republicans such as Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), the Biden administration is “knee capping the American energy industry…They don’t want us producing like we did under the Trump administration.”

However, Soto was quick to side with President Biden tweeting, "POTUS Biden is right. While we're defending democracy abroad, oil companies are taking advantage of Americans back home. #StopTheGasGouge!"

 

Just weeks ago, President Biden claimed that his hands were tied. “Can’t do much right now…Russia is responsible,” he shouted while on a loud runway. He did not expand upon that claim.

Similarly, Val Demings tweeted about the rising gas prices just a few days ago as well.

“Floridians are continuing to feel pressure at the pump while gas companies export oil and gas for profit overseas. Gasoline produced in America should be consumed in America, bringing down costs here at home.”
