Sabatini Calls for Emergency Session for Constitutional Carry

State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R-32) has called for an emergency legislative session in Florida over passing Constitutional Carry.

Gun rights advocate, Rep. Sabatini has made many attempts to revolutionize gun laws in the state of Florida, but his efforts have failed in the Republican-controlled Florida legislature.

It is important to note that Sabatini did not secure a Senate sponsor for the measure, so his legislative measure was dead on arrival.

Sabatini blamed, "Milquetoast RINOs" for the failures of Florida advancing gun rights, namely, Senate President Wilton Simpson (R) and Speaker Chris Sprowls (R)

In a Tweet last night, Sabatini also took his threats one step further, calling for the removal of any Republican who opposes the legislation he hopes to put forward once again.

Earlier this year, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) voiced support for a Constitutional Carry bill, indicating that a stance like this could be quite common among Republicans.

"Any legal firearm that a Floridian is able to purchase and have for their own self-defense, so you know typical rifles, shotguns, pistols, should be able to carry those firearms without permission from the government," previously stated Sabatini on behalf of his failed bill.

Democrats still use mass shootings as their defense against the policy, with State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-47),  "In cases of mass shootings, it becomes very difficult to even detect who is the perpetrator of that act of violence." Said Rep. Eskamani, "That’s why so many law enforcement officers have opposed something like open carry."
